This was our first day to sleep in if we wanted to. Unfortunately I woke up early anyway! However, we feel pretty well rested. I will say we have some sore muscles but we are using Deep Blue Rub and occasional anti-inflammatories to keep going so far.
It was so nice today to have free time and go on our own at our own pace. We had our breakfast then we walked down to the shops where I had seen many embroidered items with an olive motif. This is the theme of my kitchen with most things from Provence. I loved the little shop and got several items that I will enjoy using when home. I also found a necklace that I could not resist. It is amazing how reasonably things are priced. They have pure linen shirts for men for E$39! We did get John a shirt but not linen, cotton because it had the required pocket. After shopping we had a cappuccino and then we went on the walk along the cliffs again. With Alexandra we went "slowly-slowly" but we went "slowly-slowly-slowly" and enjoyed it so much. I took a lot of photos. Our trek ended right near Mama Thira so of course we had our lunch there. Today it was fish soup (too lemony for John) shrimp and crawfish, and fried potatoes. We still couldn't finish it all.
I'm Sure I am 100% Greek, at least Today!

So Lovely Here in Santorini
At 5p we booked an optional excursion to Oia (pronounced e-ha). The drive was maybe 20-30 minutes along a windy road. There are sloping farm lands on that side of the island. Alexandra set this option up for our group. It was E$16pp and dinner on your own at a restaurant Alexandra reserved. We walked all around and took a lot of photos.
We went to the Kastro Oia Restaurant to eat and watch the sunset. We had bruschetta and spaghetti with shrimp to share. The people flock to this area for the sunset. It reminded me of how everyone comes out at KBC for the Maui sunsets. Oia is a marvelous little town to visit but you definitely need to be ready for a lot of stairs and inclines, which seems to be true of most places we have visited so far. After the meal we headed "slowly, slowly" (Alexandra says this all the time) back to the bus. The difference is John and I have the speed of "slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly ...
We packed a little bit tonight but we will have time in the morning as we don't check out until 11a
